Bag MACAMP, it's not necessary unless you want to preview FLAC/SHNs. What you need are MacFLAC and Shorten for Mac- these are simple decompression apps which yield usable WAV or AIFF files. Check the FAQ here for links to both programs.

Well, you've got two options.

If you want to listen to the files and don't care about iTunes, you can listen to them directly in MacAMP. It won't convert the files, but let you listen to them directly.

If you'd prefer to listen in iTunes, get xACT (xact.fellowtraveler.org) - it's an all-in-one interface for decoding both SHN and FLAC files to AIFF or WAV for listening in iTunes. FLAAC is also available there, which will go right from FLAC>AAC if that's your bag. :)

MacAMP isn't designed to produce files for audio CDs, its plug-ins aren't relevant to your question. Read these:
